Proximity Analysis on two data sets

Lee Manevitch Jan 30, 2015 12:28PM PST

I have an Excel file composed of all our franchise locations and also a list of all locations for a large client. I need to figure out how to find out, for each of the client's locations, (A) what the closest franchise location is; and (B) how far away that location is from the client location. Is this possible?

Hi Lee,

Our application doesn’t provide this unless you were to measure one at a time. We calculate straight-line distance from your first location to all other locations in your data, but that is it. You can double click the marker and it will open a google map for you.

Thanks,
Tracy

Tough to do it that way...we have 832 client locations we're trying to match up with our closest franchise location. It looks like the solution will be to search by ZIP to the closest franchise location manually, and just record the results in a file somewhere. The good news is this is a static list; it's not an ongoing project.

Yes, that is a solution. I was thinking you needed all this data output. Hope it works for you.

Thanks,
Tracy
